I led a team of fellow graphic design students to create a visual identity and produce print and digital collateral for our senior exhibition. In keeping with the theme of "Rituals", and as a nod to some students' work in the show, we incorporated my drawing of crossed fingers with an overlay of triangles.
My personal work was focused on the way repeated hand and body gestures are used in personal rituals (hence the "good luck" crossed fingers). Some of the other students explored spiritual rituals, and the triangular shapes are there to represent various aspects of that subject (including the Holy Trinity, arrangement of relics, etc).
The main image was screen-printed in a classmate's home printing studio. We used a textured cotton rag paper that we tore by hand to preserve the deckled edge (more photos coming soon). The yellow and blue triangles were printed with transparent ink intentionally without any registration marks so that each poster in the run was unique. Also pictured is the front and back of the promotional postcards that we placed in various places on and off-campus.
